Mary (our Board of Director for our Uganda projects) is changing history and transforming communities with gender inequality issues!
After attending the public Policy meeting in the capital city and taking back the new knowledge she is helping to shift the mindset of generations to receive women as a value add to the community and not just an object of labor and sex.
Pictured is Mary sharing what she learned from the Public Policy meeting on Gender Roles in Agriculture two weeks ago. The man has his arms crossed, he is not sure about this, but at the end of the day, she wins the village leader over.
We thank God for this because she has strong men walking alongside her from our teams helping her build her confidence in delivering this message. This is risky and courageous but she has been making God tangible alongside of our entire team and village volunteers. Our teams work is quickly being recognized in the surrounding communities too!
Mary is a BOON (blessing, aid, good thing…) to many generations of women and men who have lived in an unfair environment. We can’t wait to see how God continues to use her to show many more villages what loving and supporting each other really means and the many benefits of working together (men and women) will bring, including eliminating poverty.
